this link to Argyll & Bute council's planning database informs us that full planning permission has been granted for an additional 60 berths to be installed to extend Dunstaffnage Marina.
The info is in the public domain (decision made in October 2009) but I haven't heard any comment on it or details of how the expansion will affect the other users in the bay.

Re: Marina Expansion
Looks like the pontoons are to be extended, with the resultant loss of some moorings.
Are any of them private, or is it just a sensible optimisation of available space by the marina peeps?

Interesting.

First time I've seen marina plans overlaid on charted depths. I note they claim over 1m at LAT on the southeastmost corner. This is a big fat lie!
The moorings are a mixture of privately and marina owned so I guess they've managed to acquire any private ones that might have been preventing this expansion.
but it was also trumpeted in the 2009 "year book" that these additional berths would be available by the end of 2009 IIRC. Mind you the new shower block was also about 18 months late.
Interesting lack of fingers on the main walkway out to the pontoons and additional fingers to either side of it on the main crossway. I wonder what that's all about?

You're obviously not in the marina gossip loopbut I haven't heard any comment on it

That is how they laid out Kerrera - I thought it resembled a swastika at the time and then met the fascists who were running it.
Mincing twerps in pink shirts.
Of course I am not speaking of the present managers but of the ones who replaced my very good friend Jon Fitzgerald
