Hi All, just to let people informed. We bought a boat a couple of weeks ago. Now I know that some people may think we were rash, but what the hell!!
We are the proud owners of a swing keel Beneteau 24. Having seen many boats this one was really clean, also came with a recent survey, and loats of extras, including a marina spot paid for until next March. We shall now hastle all our sailing friends to come out with us at weekends, and show us the ropes, no pun intended.
We managed to sail her for the first time last weekend and the boat was great, can't wait to go out again.
Anyway thanks for all the advice from other members.

Excellent! I just knew you wouldn't pay any attention to all that sensible advice about getting more experience first! Skippering your own boat is very different from sailing on others' boats.
Have you got any pictures? What about starting a Yotblog? It's a good way of sharing your joys and trials (just keep it honest(ish)) and will be something you can look back on to remind yourself of the early days.
Congratulations again and do keep coming back to let us know how you're getting on.
