Bet it wasn't as hard as my drive to work this morning.

Exactly 1cm of snow and the whole county comes to a halt. :-(

Hm, well, as per AP, she reckons it's 23,000 nm around the world whereas i distinctly remember it being 24,000 at the equator and 27k from ukish, round the southern ocean and back oop. I also quite like the prospect of some official at the finish disqualifying a circumnavigator who hasn't had the Crowhursty guts to do the decent thing, harumph, blah etc.

On an old 34ft boat of the sort we might aspire to as well. Here's a shot surfing towards the Cape in 40 knots.

Must be great to be young. I'd have had three reefs in.

Not age. Cape Horn? I would be under bare poles in 40 knots....
