Sorry for the delay in marking the homework.
You wouldn't want to lose engine power just outside the entrance.

Sorry, wrong.solwaycruiser wrote:Could it be Whitehills ?
Whitehills is a smaller harbour, but was equally busy when we went there for a walk the next day. Bitterly cold so didn't take any photos.
The crew and I spent 3 nights at Banff Springs Hotel on a cheap Dinner, B&B deal between Christmas and NewYear.

When I look at the harbour entrances all along the Morayshire coast and think about the early fishing boats and their crew, it leaves me with a great respect for the skills and stamina of the skippers and crew of those boats.

My friend who shall remain nameless (Gordon Reid - boat "Emily"), had a mechanical 'mishap' at the entrance to Banff.ash wrote:Sorry for the delay in marking the homework.

In the ensuing kerfuffle, they chucked the anchor out, the lifeboat attended (training nearby), they then lost the anchor and his friend lost the tip of his finger.
He recounted this tale to me just after we had a discussion about whether or not it was unlucky that he had changed his boats name, which he told me was superstitious clap trap.
The incident was the first trip after the name change !
