Just found this site and it looks good so far and I see a few from loch lomond,
I am new to sailing and hope to put my yacht in loch lomond next year 2010
to start learning (sailing) so dont worry i will be asking a lot of big Q's

Hi little boy blue and aquaplane
Well the boat is a Ron Holland eygthene 24 with a virle7 2-stroke petrol
Length over all: 7,32 m
Length waterline: 6,35 m
Beam: 2,95 m
Draught: 1,40 m
Mast: 9,45 m
Displacement: 1955 kg
Ballast: 1020 kg
Sail Area: 25 m2
Design Year: 1973
Found the boat just down the road in renfrew it had been sitting in a garden for 10 years the owner had removed all inside woodwork so its not to bad inside but still working on a refit while it onshore
had the engine out, cleaned,painted' temporary rewired and started so it's back in and waiting to be rewired to an electronic ignition system for more reliability (my dad was a mechanic ) I have checked 3 of the keel bolts (6 in total) and they were fine so resealed and tightened all 6
And as you may have workout she was called Vital Spark and sailed around the clyde so if someone may know of her red bottom white waterline strip and blue sides and white deck

Eygthene - had a look at one once. Pronounced "Eighteen" cos that's waterline length, is that right? Sit on the side decks as no cockpit coamings; bit of a racing machine at one time I gather. Should be fun - good luck with the refurb. I've found the problem with a project boat is if I make the priority doing the functional stuff to get her sailing then the rest gets postponed indef. On the other hand if I'd aimed to complete everything first then I'd have missed more sailing.

Nice boat that will respond well to being sailed correctly.
Use the same care that you are putting into the engine to servicing the deck gear, buy decent ropes so that you can easily tweak & trim the sails and rig and you'll have a great time learning to sail.

I'm a sassanach too, but I'm learning the language. I have nearly finished Para Handy and watched that "Hable Glsaga" utube thing with OOjar McRachan in (Stanley Baxter, that's him) and I got the gist of what they were on about.
