SWMBO and I drove to Ullapool, and stayed at the Caledonian, for the last May bank holiday weekend.
Out for a drive, we stopped at Gairloch and I spotted this little fleet on the hard.
......
.....
Google found this info -
International 2.4 metre .
They all were fitted with a pretty hefty bilge pump so I guess that they're a bit 'wet' to sail.
Does anyone know anything about them? Do they sail at displacement speed based on LWL?
Just curious
Ash

Well I just had a wee shotty of both of the ones at Kilmelford - was out for over two hours yesterday.
Jeez, I don't know why I bother posting really.

I've had some great food in that hotel over the years. I once ordered mussels as a starter for £3.50 and could not eat my main dish. I'd love to sail around the Summer Isles on e day too. Sigh.

Sorry Ash, a late response to the thread, but, as a habitual non-racer, I'd love a shot at one of these. Thanks.

Do keep up at the back . . .
We're taking Fiona out on Fairwinds soon and I hope to be sailing her 'spare' 2.4m regularly next year. First trip planned is round Shuna.

Claysie, are ye talkin' aboot the CC or a trip with the fair Fiona? If it's the cruise then aye nae doot (if ye divnae get a better offer that is, but I thocht ye wir bringing the auld tub). Yer just a slip o' a loon noo, so we'll nae hae tae raise the watterline. Mind ye'll be kippin' in the saloon, nane of' that aft cabin nonsense, so ye'll hae tae bide up 'til the pairtying's feenished - better get in trainin'.
On the other haun', if it's mair o' a wee cruise in company wi' the bonnie lass o' Kilmelford yer fancyin' then ye'll hae to be ready to traivel at an instant's notice. Fa kens, she may well be lookin' for a man wi' an aft cabin an' an ebersooker.
