Come on lads and lasses. You live in the most beautiful part of the world. Get out sailing, and get some pictures up.
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
I'll be raging this afternoon. In the rain, off Penarth, on the azure waters of the Bristol Channel, the Welsh riviera.
Get out there.
Wakey, wakey

Re: Wakey, wakey
I did, and I'll put them up tomorrow. Not as picturesque as most here, but this is the Bristol Channel.
36 Miles, up to 9 knots SOG, good sunshine, lovely wind, not too cold and great company.
Magic stuff!

Well last weekend (18th oct) A friend asked me to help him get his boat around the Mull of Kintyre, stunning clear conditions, but westerly 30knots plus most of the day. Although built in 1936 Cruinneag lapped up the conditions and it was a lot rougher than it looks in the photos!
An early start from Gigha

Bashing through round the MOK

Last weekend was stunning up around oban. Whilst others were stripping thier boats ready to come out of the water in Dunstaffnage we grabbed a wee jaunt up to Tobermory in stunning weather. Spinnaker up and a quiet night in Aros bay - the food at cafe fish was excellent as usual.
Lovely sunrise

Sunny sailing north up sound of mull

Makes me realise what good value my Contessa is! I get the same submarining performance at a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the speed. If only I could afford his oilies!Nick wrote:.

Here ya go, warts and all:
In the locks at Cardiff

Thunderstorms over Exmoor:

Crew working hard, Flatholm island in the background

Autumn sunshine on the waves:

So, not the West coast of Scotland in May, but a lovely sail. 36 miles, bowling along, great company, and better than sitting in the house watching Oprah.
