Fendering a rigid tender.

I have just got a Mirror to use as a tender, for loading up only, the inflatable will go with us in a locker (read ¼ berth on a Centaur) just in case we want to get ashore from a mooring or at anchor.

Even if we use much more care coming alongside, with an outboard without neutral, we are going to have the occasional hard(ish) landing.

I could use a few little fenders, but there is nowhere to hang them off on the Mirror, I could fit some little fasteners to the gunwal I suppose.

Glueing/cable tying pipe lagging to the gunwal is an option but I think of that belonging on a beat up Bic 252 or similar, so I'm not too keen, I don't like the idea of drilling holes for the ties either.

Leaving a couple of fenders on Chiron's quarter is an option, but not favoured.

A nice fat hemp rope round the boat could work, would it look like a tug?

Any other suggestions or solutions?

Similar stuff available at similar prices elsewhere by googling. We have a West (plastic Mirror) and I am thinking of using this for the same purpose.

I used a hard dinghy for 2 years when I kept a boat on a mooring. Never had a problem bumping into yacht but then I am a good driver
Main problem was avoiding dinghy hitting yacht when tied aft. Some fenders helped but found a bucket tied to stern of dinghy and overboard seemed to work a treat untill one night in strong wind the bucket decide to shed itself from handle.
