I am looking for an electric anchor windlass capable of handling 3/8" short link chain to replace my SL manual winch .

I'd give you mine but on the rare occassions it works (as we enter an anchorage) it never fails to put a smile on my face - until the 5m mark, when I help Caroline flake it................... then look on sympatheticallly as she hoists it, offering to help .... but the tide is pulling us..

Thanks for your interest , if you ever decide to replace your anchor winch I shall be interested in acquiring the old one ; who knows I might be able to fix it being an inveterate tinkerer. Trying to recover 50 m of chain one windy morning in July while anchored at Lochaline finally convinced me I needed an anchor winch. My home base is Granton but I usually bring my boat to the west for May , June and July.
