My dad is in hospital in Oban having had a bit of surgery last week.
Mum has been in a couple of BnB's but is currently looking for somewhere with en-suite for when they discharge dad towards the end of the week. I think she needs to move on at the W/E anyway as the room she is in how is booked.
It looks like it may be a week or so before he is fit enough to make the treck back to Yorkshire. She is talking about hotels which may be their best bet, but any ideas will be considered. Any sugestions about where thay could stay?

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad.
I don't have any personal experience of Oban B&Bs.
Tourist Board Offices are usually very helpful - Oban Tourist Office.

Cheers Ash, you sun tanned divil you, he won't last for ever but he is spinning it out now he is 80. I don't think he wants me to start putting dings in Seminole.
I was just wondering if there was a bit of local knowledge, or even somewhere someone had used and liked.

.
It's an incredibly busy season, might not be easy to find anywhere. I've been checking some local self catering properties I do websites for, and they are all fully booked for July and August.
Asking the tourist board might be your best bet.

Re: En-suite digs.
My wife and I used Grove House in Connel a few times (Guest House). It is very nice, with ensuite rooms and very friendly & helpful owners. I am not sure about their vacancies but their details are
info@grovehouseconnel.co.uk
http://www.grovehouseconnel.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Tel 01631 710599
Mob 07867 785524
I have no connection with them, other than being a satisfied guest. They were infact recommended to me by David Banks of Alba Sailing who stayed there extensively during the time he was taking over Alba from Terry Saunders.
The reason I have their details is, I am working in Norway and I have their card in my wallet.
Hope you find something.

Hi,
Try the 'Harbour View' B&B down near the Kelvin...we use it when we are over from Tiree shopping.

Re: En-suite digs.
Thankyou all for your sugestions.
It seems that they set off last Friday to come south in stages only to find that the chain they were hopeing to use was full at their first stop. The next couple were too when they tried too pre-book and they ended up coming all the way home, I found out Friday but was warned off visiting, too tired.
I've been to see them tonight and things seem OK so far, but I'm glad I didn't go Friday.
Thanks again from a very mortal feeling Bob.

I'm glad to hear that they're safely home.
With a distinct lack of work at the moment, I was going to offer my services as a chauffeur if neeeded as I didn't know if your Mum drove but too late.
Let me know if you need help with or accommodation en route to 'Seminole'

Re: En-suite digs.
Mum has never driven so far in one go, but she did Ok, reportedly.
Dad looked frail last night, gawd knows what he looked like before he "got better". I don't think they will be back this season but they are planning to, I hope they can.
Enquiries have been made at Oban Marina WAVT overwintering there, they will even collect Seminole from Tayvallich. There are more volunteers than enough to get Seminole back to Tarbert or Dumbarton but I'm hopeing they are both fit enough to do it themselves, with extra crew
