Just to say we're all pure dead chuffed that our youngest daughter has been granted a conditional acceptance for medicine at St Andrews.
Due mainly (IMO) to a poor choice of subjects at higher level she missed a direct acceptance by one grade of one higher but thanks to her under-privileged background she was given an interview for a one year feeder course. She learned today that all she needs is a single B at advanced higher, for which she is a shoo-in (again IMO) to claim her place.
Medical matters being to the fore today since I am suffering a touch with swine flu *** , I thought I would update this thread with the news that the lovely and talented wee S has sailed through her first year with flying colours, gaining some remarkably high marks in many subjects and a letter of commendation in Psychology.
She starts work at our local Tesco tomorrow. Hmm... I feel a troll coming on.
*** It could be any kind of flu since no-one seems particularly keen on coming close enough to take an appropriate sample but I'm on Tamiflu and recommend it highly.
Whats the price of Bacon in Tesco then - here in Denmark you hardly ever see the stuff
Get well soon Dave - anither 5 years and the daughter could have tended to you - she's the lucky one

Excellent suggestion on the use of Tamdhu for medicinal purposes but since I have to keep up my fluids I think it will have to be taken with quantities of beer.
