An announcement

Post by Silkie »

Just to say we're all pure dead chuffed that our youngest daughter has been granted a conditional acceptance for medicine at St Andrews.

Due mainly (IMO) to a poor choice of subjects at higher level she missed a direct acceptance by one grade of one higher but thanks to her under-privileged background :) she was given an interview for a one year feeder course. She learned today that all she needs is a single B at advanced higher, for which she is a shoo-in (again IMO) to claim her place.

Result.

This is indeed excellent news! Particularly the way the Scottish university funding system benefits the parents of students.

Medical matters being to the fore today since I am suffering a touch with swine flu *** , I thought I would update this thread with the news that the lovely and talented wee S has sailed through her first year with flying colours, gaining some remarkably high marks in many subjects and a letter of commendation in Psychology.

She starts work at our local Tesco tomorrow. Hmm... I feel a troll coming on. :)

*** It could be any kind of flu since no-one seems particularly keen on coming close enough to take an appropriate sample but I'm on Tamiflu and recommend it highly.

Congratulations to Wee S.
Suggest you try the Tamdhu in celibration.
Or for medicinal purposes if you prefer.

Excellent suggestion on the use of Tamdhu for medicinal purposes but since I have to keep up my fluids I think it will have to be taken with quantities of beer.
