Batteries

Post by Silkie »

Bought a new battery for Silkie from Costco. Bosch marine/leisure batteries 75Ah for £35 and 110Ah for £56 inc VAT. Seems like a decent price?

Sounds very good. I bought a 75 Ahr leisure battery from Halfords last year - can't remember what I paid, but the current cost is £54.99 inc VAT.

I've never been to Costco, but those who have seem to swear by it.

Now you tell us. I've wasted all that money on the Bosch and it's dry clean only.

Did you really get a new battery for that price? Not bothered about the extras... I have crew for that.

If so - source???

I got a 100Ah job from the new Clyde Chandlers at Ardrossan - same people as at Largs - for £45 on special offer recently. Shall I buy up all the stock for you all?

Yes, buy the lot. If you can retro-fit the instant video replay facility you should be able to make a tidy profit.

BTW this is definitely the last time I'll post anything on here so straightforward as a battery price.

It's hard to believe that this battery lasted 13 seasons but it did and I'm now in the market for a new one. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonable quality/price make and/or supplier? A 13 year guarantee is not a requirement nor is 500Ah.

Halfords
if I come in with you, I can keep them talking whilst you find what you need and then we can plan its liberation...
