I don't really like posting links to TOP, but I felt that some people who only post here might be interested in this:

I will be retired by then, so BBH should be there this time, coming south from her new berth in Tarbert.
I will not stay young forever but, I can be immature for the rest of my day's!

Ash was asking me if I may be able to "borrow" my fathers boat for the occasion. I don't think it's going to be possible and it's too optimistic to expect him to join in methinks.

We will see how things develop, I'm hoping to get to see more of you this year but may be begging a berth or two.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.

Clyde Wanderer - I mailed you this morning. Just in case you didn't get it I will be flying up as planned on Friday but might be incommunicado 'till Thursday night.

I've got my Doric Phrase Book so I should be able to communicate with/order drinks for other cruisers etc.

Not sure you'll find many Doric speakers bobbing about on the Clyde but I am sure you'll have fun anyway.

So are you setting out tomorrow to be there in time then?

BTW I will be taking some pics of boats arriving at the pontoon, so remember all sails up, unless of course it is blowing a gale when I will be sheltering in the bar. :)

Hi Guys

Please excuse my navigational ignorance - it's been years since I was on Cumbrae - where, exactly, is the Sailing centre/ S*butt bar/ pontoons?

Online searches puts it on the B899, halfway between the ferry slip and the town. The website isn't very useful - they even have an 'o' [oh] instead of a zero in the postcode - best info is that it's wooden lodges but can't see them on google earth.

TIA

Ash... :tiphat:

Cumbraes Water Sports Centre is just South of the ferry terminal near the NW corner of the island - it is an 'L' shaped pontoon with a red flashing light at the North end.
This might help:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=l&sourc ... r=&split=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The pontoon should be towards the top left of this picture.

So - just hang about and then follow the ferry - if you can see the Nardini shop then tell Uncle Albert that the ferry was going the wrong way!!

Cheers - This it?

But will you not be ON the ferry, or have you secured a berth elsewhere?

And the co-ordinates for the north end of pontoon is,

55* 46.57"N
48* 53.44W
Hope this gets you there!
