It looks as though YotBlog has finally been successfully upgraded - although I had to pay the software developer to do it in the end.
YOUR BLOG ADDRESS

The URLs for your blogs are now http://www.yotblog.co.uk/blogname" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , but there is a redirect on the old domain so any old links and bookmarks will still work.
LOST ENTRIES

The database was backed up last Tuesday 17th March, so any entries you have made since then are, I am afraid, lost and will have to be re-entered.
ISSUES - PASSWORDS

There are bound to be some issues - I have not had enough time to explore yet to test everything - but I think I may have found one already. You may find that your password has not been imported correctly into the new database. If this is the case please use the 'forgot password' facility to request a new password. Once logged in you will be able to change it back to the old password if you want. If you use the password reminder option then just ignore the security question (leave it blank). You will get a chance to set that up later when you change your password.

NEW FEATURES

There are loads of new templates, so if you want to change your template you can. Check out http://www.yotblog.co.uk/Fairwinds2005/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for an example of an old blog changed to a new template.
New features include photo albums and moblogging - being able to update your blog via email or mobile device. There will be more information on these later. I will be looking for a few beta testers who will get moblogging enabled on their account for free, and if all goes well then the rest of you will be able to upgrade your account for a few quid a year if you would like the moblogging facility.
Basic free accounts will always be available, supported by unobtrusive Google ads.

What to do about dead blogs? Well, I propose to keep all the interesting ones and create an index of these onBlueMoment. Any that:
a) Have had no new entries since December 2007
and
b) Have either less than six entries or have more entries but are dull as ditchwater
are likely to be deleted in the near future.
THE FUTURE
------------------------
The problem was that the original creators of the software instituted a major upgrade which left the older version unsupported and very difficult to upgrade.
BlogHoster (the people who wrote the software) have been recently taken over by SplashPress media, who certainly look as if they intend to fully support the platform. We do not anticipate any new versions appearing forwhich no upgrade path is available, and will be applying any new updates (for security or functionality) as they come out from now on and will keep you fully informed.
BlogHoster should now be able to offer as much or more than any other dedicated blogging platform, and we look forward to your continuing support.
