Don't get me wrong. After the last couple of years we could do with some decent weather, and I'm more than happy to go with the frogspawn theory, it's just my basic engineering scepticism of unexplained connections...

For the Engineers and sceptics of which I am both, frogs lay more frogspawn when the future is to be dry hoping that some at least will survive.

Be aware that this explanation has a lot to do with a glass or two of Laphroig whisky celebrating a successful launch and absolute optimism for the summer ahead.

However it must be said that Lancashire frogs are the best weather forcasters.

Well appart from our current lack of telephone line and therefor web access, Sails are bent on and BBH should depart Kip round the M o K towards her new berth in Croabh on Wednesday next weather permitting!

(Currently relying on GPRS which is as slow as a slow thing going slow!)

What a week last week was, got all my jobs done including the teak on deck cleaned and Dek Ole'd, not often I can get that done in March.

As They say in Lancashire " jobs a guddun"

Not only that, I got a shake out sail around Kerrera, not much wind but did manage to get round without using the tin top sail.

Oh to be able to see someone type in 'Lanky Twang'! We had a lovely sail down Windermere and a comedy session learning how to moor a bigger boat. One hilarious incident involving two cleats and two bowlines and another involving the head but I have a new skillet to practice with.

Dark Island looked good as she left Kerrera for her first cruise (as we pottered around the Cardinal Buoys, in Oban Bay on Rosally, grabbing what bits of breeze we could). We eventually got a bit of a breeze heading into the Firth of Lorn.
