Oxalic acid

Post by Clyde_Wanderer »

I am now trying to find a local supplier of the stuff but finding it difficult.
I spoke to my old supplier today who says she would try to find another supplier but I would most likely have to take 25kg tub.
If this is the case would any of you be interested in buying a share of it at a related price?

How about you Pete Cooper? Amaranthe looks as if she could do with some splashed about.

I'd take some off you Eammon, can't run to half of 25kg but maybe 5kg would be reasonable if you can find some other takers. Let me know what price would run to.

God knows Stormy Petrel needs it - and I wouldn't ask anyone to take a contract out on you for suggesting it!

I was able to order 1KG tub some time ago from this firm

http://www.agwoodcare.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Tel 01789 778628

1 KG goes a long way when you are mixing at 4 oz to 1 pint.

Think Nick was throwing a bot of friendly banter back your way above....

Second the AGW thing. 1Kg will see me oot, and , by the way, it's done a crackin' job on the hull.
I wonder if I can incorporate it in toothpaste......
Was going to start the polishing process today, but the weather's keech here.
No doubt it'll get better once all you guys get back to work. Gerronwivitt.

Pete, I thought you would have been at my door by now, not to worry, the bottle of Bunahabhain can wait.

Anyway back to Oxalic acid.
It looks like something which is very very hard to get in Scotland, and it seems that a lot of you fellow boaters are ordering it from down south, ie companies like AGW woodcare at extorsionate prices, ie £15.25 for a kilo delivered to your door.
Well I am toying with the idea of buying a large quantity of it which would enable me to retail it to you for something like £10 odds, delivered to your door, but of course I would be interested in the demographics of it all first.
Does this sound like a good deal to you?
Would you be prepered to buy from me as apposed to buying down south at higher prices?
What quantities would you be buying?
Consider that you would be getting it from me at 2/3 the price and a Scottish supplier, which is bound to help the Scottish economy albiet in a very small way.
Your views would be welcome.

I got 500g on E-bay for about £7 including postage. And later got 1kg for about £10 inc postage from e-bay again.
