Hi
I'm a new member and am probably missing something obvious but here goes ....
The user profile which new members are expected to complete asks for all sorts of personal info half of which mean nothhing to me but none of which gives any detail of the boat I sail.

Why? Is boat type and member location not the most interesting items for other forumites?

Totally agree.
Another forum that some of us use, has specifics for revealing a bit more pertinant info.
I suppose you could use the 'occupation' and 'interest' sections to write what you like.
Just altered mine.

An indication of your disposable income could help the selection process for the Chentleman's Cruise.

Any references to your spirit of generosity could also help you get invited to the endless round of social opportunities for which this website is famous. This I should point out would need to be in direct contradiction the custom and practice of the website creator who wouldn't part wi the steam frae his tea.

Which reminds me Claysie - we are still waiting for your payment of last year's subscription.

For the rest of you, I have just added boat type to the profile as a custom field - no charge.

I remember the day Nick would have remembered what kind of boat he has - shame that he now has to write it down, the auld alts-haemmers it taking its toll.
