Myth Busters - Sea Sickness.

Post by Windfinder »

Just watched "Myth Busters" on Discovery + 1.

They were looking at Seasickness cures.

One seemed to work with no side effects - ginger pill.

So there you go - the old Ginger Biscuits thing might work after all.

I'm sure I'm teaching people to suck eggs but I was talking to a Doctor a few years ago. He reckoned that the things in nature that effect the inner ear are the poisons. So when you start rocking about your body say's "Ahhhh, innner ear probs, best vomit all that nasty poison up."

Just a little prediction: SUAT

Problem is it doesn't seem to know when to stop!

I just add a stoogie to my morning cocktail of pills when on rough passages.
One a day seems to work, regardless of watch hours being worked.

I recommend a glass of Crabbies with lunch.
It may or may not help but it does at least bring a warm glow.

I sometimes also take it with lunch when I am sailing.

I like Crabbies mixed 50:50 with OVD rum.

Don't know if it's good for seasickness, mind.
