On TOP somebody posted a link to the recent party at the White House - a bit of digging on the same site produced this masterpiece. The zoom facility is amazing.

What a great view, is it too far north to be around the Ullapool area with the right side of pan looking across the Minch?
BTW did you spot the image of the face in the small white cloud just right of the left side of the pan near the top of the frame? Not joking!

We can't change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our sails.

That's rather good, isn't it? And what a superb viewpoint!

Well, after a bit of looking at maps, I reckon it was taken from the trig point of Sidhean Mor on Point of Stoer (NC017346). The most prominant of the nearer hills are (L to R) Quinag, Canisp, Suilven, Cul Mor, Cul Beag and Stac Pollaidh.

Though I've once sailed past the point, I've never been up to the viewpoint, but it's now on my list of places to visit on a good day. :)
