Ra Chentleman's Cruise 2009
Not having the best of days and having had a Skype conversation with a very depressed Shard who seems to have upset most of the American Bankers with his keynote speech on ethics - my mind has taken to thinking of the Chents Cruise again.
So - similar format - Claymore will not be in scottish waters at that time of the year - Are mi comprades up for a share of Alba's finest again?
There are 2 conditions:
Muzzy's wife says he's not allowed to jump into moored water taxis and Dear Heart says I have to do the driving.

Regards

Claymore

If El Claymore isnae being weilded in Scotland's dim and dank coast and chartering is happening anyway, tthen why don't we fly aff tae somewhere warm and sunny insteed? That wid gie the fleet of depressed retirees somewhere tae aim at .. and we could have a wee bet on the race outcome of the race tae ra sun. My money would be on DaveS tae get tae Bodrum furst!

Not the CC then . . .
.
Or at least not in the same format. Yon Med is no place for a chentleman. Chavs Cruise perhaps??
The CC can by definition only take place in Scottish waters.

We went to . . .
.

GlenalmondGood grief chaps. The spelling in these posts is quite simply atrocious. What schools did you attend, gents?

Re: We went to . . .
A fair to middling public school which makes the spelling all the more surprising.Nick wrote:.GlenalmondGood grief chaps. The spelling in these posts is quite simply atrocious. What schools did you attend, gents?
Used to play you lot at ruggar (I'm talking about the 1960's; Loretto, in my case). Were you in the First XV? What position?
Re: We went to . . .
My apologies. Watched the fly on the wall doc about Glenalmond on BBC2 last night. Appears to be a top Public School nowadays. Interesting that it was established by Gladstone to inplant Englishness into the Scottish middle classes but now appears to have a majority English pupilage and staff judging by the accents.JackJ wrote:A fair to middling public school which makes the spelling all the more surprising.Nick wrote:.GlenalmondGood grief chaps. Anyway, glad to hear, Nick, that you're a public schoolboy; my kind of chap. Ignore the lower orders when they whinge about privilege, arrogance (and deviant practices in the dorm). It just jealousy.

Ra Chentleman's Cruise 2009. Whit date?
Have we fixed a date for this highly prestigious event in the sailing calendar, or are all too scunnered to even think about it after the joys of this August, September, October, November.....?
