Avilion's Blog
Having taken all winter, I've finally got this brought up to date - 2 days before the log book goes back aboard. A classic case of Parkinson's law, methinks!

Not wishing to be picky but..
I did note a reference "The (replacement - see 1/5/05) anchor strop was gone" which seemed to indicate that there might still be a small entry required to bring the blog completely up to date.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 2005 Summer Cruise entry BTW.

Re: Avilion's Blog
Well, that's more than I've managed to do, so congratulations are in order. Nice blog, and pleased to learn that Avilion survived the trauma of last year's Chentleman's Cruise.DaveS wrote:Having taken all winter, I've finally got this brought up to date - 2 days before the log book goes back aboard.

Well... I've not made up the new, new replacement yet so I didn't think I could really talk about it... Unless I'm missing something?Silkie wrote:I did note a reference "The (replacement - see 1/5/05) anchor strop was gone" which seemed to indicate that there might still be a small entry required to bring the blog completely up to date.![]()

Just checked again
Where did that come from? I'm obviously not spending enough time online.

Having just gone to check, yes and probably yes respectively. The CC reference appears in "2005 summary".Silkie wrote:I had assumed that the "see 1/5/05" referred to an entry of that date covering the loss of the original on the CC. Or have you actually posted this and I've missed it?
One of the "features" of the blogging software is that, unless you change it, the date for each entry stays at that of the time of first creation. I've chosen to put each year into two entries: the summer trip and everything else. Of course the summer jaunt comes in the middle of the year, and since I've worked through in sequence from the start, this has meant 1. producing the first half of the "general" bit in draft, 2. producing the summer bit, 3. completing the general bit. This means that on completing each year, the summer bit has the more recent date, which does make the overall sequence a bit disjointed. (But changing the dates would make each summer bit come before the start of each other bit for that year which wouldn't be much better...)

Odd post
Dear blogGreen88,
I'm struggling to see any connection between your post and anything previous on this thread. Your blank profile gives no clue either. From the remarkable similarity to your post on another thread it occurs to me that your offerings may be generated mechanically. Is this anything other than an attempt to encourage visits to other sites? In short, is this just spam?

short lives ...
nick has ways of dealing with the spammers.
its interesting that, while there are spammers on ybw, there never seems to be any posts exactly like the ones we get here on there. i`m thinking of the ones nick has jettisoned over the past few months. does ybw have some sort of filter that screens them out or what ?
