Eber control unit

Post by Clyde_Wanderer »

Do any of you peeps local to Glasgow have a D3L eberspacher with a control unit, PNo 22 1607 50 00 00 who knows ti is working correctly, and be willing to lend it to me to acertain if it is my unit that is at fault?
I have just reasembled the heat exchanger with new wick, gaskets, etc, tried bench testing it while taking power from my van with engine running to ensure good voltage, but although the fan motor runs, the glow plug and pump dont cut in.
Have tested the pump seperatly and it does work.
I have come to the conclusion that it must be the control unit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

C_W, I see that on YBW there are 2 or 3 people selling various bits of Eber stuff - it might be worth contacting them directly to see if they have the bit(s) that you need?????

Thanks Pete.
I will have a look, but dont want to buy a new control unit until I can accertain for definate if it is the fault, as they are very very expensive.
If I could get the loan of one first, to try, then I would be looking at buying one.
Document in the post to you today!!!!!
Hope you are keeping dry, :)
Regards, Eamonn.
