Cube sugar stays as coherent cubes on a boat while granulated coalesces into an amorphous mass.
I'd love to know why.
Fed up with soggy sugar?

Been using cubed sugar for years (it lasts for ever, because SWMBO & I don't take it).
Dear Storm rider, if you MUST have the "White Death" on your cereal (definitely not a good idea really) just rub two cubes together. They happily grind each other into crystals which will poison you as well as any table sugar.
Finally, Aldi do a squeezy bottle of honey for sweetening if you find you cannot manage without.

Whether it be honey which is - er - excreted from bees (vegans don't touch the stuff), syrup - which is inverted sugar, brown unbleached muscovado sugar or just plain sugar it has about the same effect on your teeth if you don't brush them before casting off. It also has similar calorific values.
Otherwise you could have teeth like Long John Silver.
I only have wheaty-bangs because there are no facilities in the galley for making paritch.
