Any Clyde Marina residents? - free 50KWH electricity card

Found in wallet: bought in 2005 (£10?) and never used.
Presuming they still have the same Rolec system there then it should work I guess.

Free to good home - small donation to the RNLI if it works..?

I haven't seen anything similar - though we're not marina regulars.

Oh well - I'll just stick it back in my wallet. You can't give stuff away..

I was annoyed to discover the Campbelltown cards don't work in Portavadie. Will try them in Tarbert next weekend.

I'd be surprised if they worked in any marina other than that where puchased. If you pay marina A for a card and then use Marina B's electricity it wouldn't be much of a deal for B.

This is the underlying basis of the once popular scam which goes as follows.

Assume that you get your household 'leckie via a card meter (I suspect few yotties do, but role play for a moment...) You go to the Leckie company and buy four £5 cards which you then take down to the pub and sell to a punter for £3 each. He uses each card to get £5 worth of leckie from his meter, and thinks he's saved £8.

In fact you've just pocketed almost all of what he gave you, because the initial £20 was credited to your account, and ultimately you'll get it back as a rebate, losing only interest. The punter's account will show £20 unpaid and still owed by him to the Leckie co. :lol:
