Not a connoisseur myself, but Glengoyne is a rather nice, warm, Lowland malt made not far from here. The Glengoyne distillery is at the foot of Dumgoyne, the westernmost hill of the Campsie Fells. Rather a nice scramble when we we used to have cold frosty winter days.
Not sure what the appropriate opening occasion should be, but, enjoy it when you do.
What is Glengoyne like ?

It's brilliant stuff. Used to be my second nearest distillery before we moved house! I've been there a few times, and had a great evening blending our own whisky etc there.
The 10 year old is really light and (I think, anyway) quite nutty. Great as an aperitif or a lunch time warmer. Struggles a bit for flavour post-dinner. One of my favourites.

Glengoyne
I'm thinking the same strange man came by here on his way north, for a boxed bottle of that same strange mixture was left on my table. He did have tea and biscuits, and a spot of lunch as well, before he left for points north.
P'rhaps someone will ask that 'Lakie' chappie on TOP whether he, too, received a similar benediction...... when TOP resurrects a working server, that is.
