Now, I fell to wondering about this, as most - no, all - of the backbone servers I know about use a form of UTC via the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Time_Protocol, and I suspect that what's used here is no different. Unless that eccentric wee laird Nick hisnae put a shilling in the meter recently, and still uses a grandfather clock in the hall, and the BBC Home Service......

The server may think it is measuring UTC but the software prefers GMT. You can set the time zone in your profile . . . mine reads GMT + 1 hour, for obvious reasons.
I could change it to UTC if I could be bothered, but I can't.
