Well, Karadzic tracked down, following unlikely career as alternative medecine guru. Then radio today had a quote from a "Jungian astrologer". I reckon the more weird the combination, the more credible the punters think something is. So, "forensic" seems to be hitched to various jobs to give them more status; an aquaintance was humping stuff around for Railtrack but has now been promoted to do "forensic" and gets £5 an hour more. What about "Forensic Astrologer" then - could be money in it. Avoid any hint of Romans looking at animal entrails to prophesy outcomes cos that wouldn't be nice. Pick at random any two unconnected words and there could be a career there. "Quantum nutrition" maybe. Any other suggestions ?

Reminds me of a place I worked over 20 years ago. We had this list of words, in 3 columns. When writing a technical report, you took one word at random from each column to make some very technical sounding phrase in the report, which actually meant bu99er all

e.g "Maximised realtime alternative"

It was called the S.P.E.W list - Specialised P???? Erudite Waffle.

Good fun at the time. I'll have to have a trawl through all my stuff and see if I still have a copy.

Yes, it's the right words that sound convincing isn't it. "Holistic" has had it's day. The success of Feng Shui, now spent, is a pointer. Read the other day that this Chinese herbal medecine with a history going back thousands of years was in fact constructed by Mao ( prolly not personally ) because no doctors survived the revolution. So the right words PLUS a celebrity endorsement.
