Is it all working????

Quiet on here today.

I have just modified the anti-spambot-signup script and would be obliged if someone could test it for me by registering for a new account . . .

Tx,

well, I took your invitation literally and have signed up, even though I do not sail a great deal (if at all in recent decades) on the west coast - in fact mostly crawl around the ditches of Europe - thought the restaurants are pretty good there. Was inspired by your excellent pics of the Crinan event - none of my erstwhile Bro-in-law MM, however - and also nostalgia seeing Vic 32 getting steam up. Are low-lifes who use diesel allowed on here, in fact?

Well, there must be something of the sailor in you if you were inspired to sign up by the Crinan pics, so welcome aboard.

We do have non-saily posts on here, plus boaty posts of a technical nature that can apply to stinkies as well, and a fair amount of banter - and this is most definitely NOT a West Coast only forum, although a lot of our membership lean that way :)

Perhaps you can post some intersting sailing related tidbits from the ditches of Europe . . .

Thanks in any event for confirming that my tinkering with the anti-spam-signup code has had no deleterious side effects.

well thanks - that's very generous. The Crinan pix were terrific, but I must admit it was the puffer that caught my eye - Nick and Rachel are very old friends. Indeed I used to be a sailor, and briefly edited one of those IPC yachting rags - a million years ago. These days I find a more level platform reassuring - though the boat handling challenges in canals and locks can be quite satisfying when one gets it right. And there's usually a decent watering hole at the end of the day. Oh, and I appreciate that the forum is not a west coast monopoly - though it does have a certain caledonian flavour, you must admit.
