Been staring at it for that long, I think my eyes have lost focus. Must clean my specs.

Certainly looks familiar, like looking NNE up the Linn of Morvern, or looking west from Loch na Droma Buidhe (Loch Drumbuie). But neither; too much water for the first (unless an exceptional spring tide), and not steep enough for the second.

I've a feeling it's looking W or NW towards the Sound of Mull, but that's just a guess. No idea really....

Looking NW out of Oitir Mhor Bay on the west coast of Kerrera in fact. Lismore light is framed between the two isles in the foreground. Well it would be if you could see it.

Although the general direction was kind of right, I couldn't place the rocky bits in the foreground. I presume one of these rocks will be the wee island there.

What's it like? We've thought about it, but never anchored there. Reasonable shelter from E through SW I suppose?

Nick, Jill and I took a walk past it (actually more of a forced march) at the end of the CC.

Lawrence describes it as "provides reasonable shelter in moderate summer weather." The CCC don't mention it. Although I'd planned to stop for lunch, the wind picked up (I'd motored there) and I decided to press on so I can't comment on the bottom.

I anchored there about 6 weeks ago on one of the (seemingly) few days recently when there has been a southerly wind. It was fairly blowy on the day, 20knts + ,and we had a nice sheltered lunch. We went reasonably far in and anchored (well) in what turned out to be fairly gloopy mud ( just like poldohrain ). It was a tranquil spot, and the seals basking on the small islands were unperturbed by our presence , and were very entertaining for the kids I had on board.

Not a single seal in evidence when I was there. One of the tripper boats came out and dutifully toured all the wee isles. I wondered what they tell the punters when there's nothing but a couple of gulls to be seen.
