Guilt
I have recently (and for various reasons which need not be gone into here) turned down the opportunity to crew on a trip to Oostende aboard a friend's boat, at almost the last minute. This was difficult decision and I feel bad about having left my friend in the lurch, even if only a little bit since I am unlikely to have been the most valuable crew member aboard.

Silkie, your getting in a fret over nothing..... it wasn't and never will be a problem.... its far too relaxed and informal on the East Coast to worry about things like that.... life's too short.
There will be plenty of other opportunities, and you remain right at the top of the list of invitees!
