Hi,
I represent a group of sailors from Sweden that plane to sail to Scotland this summer. I now want to find information on harbors in Scotland; like approach, depth, shelter, charge, service, phone number, e-mail, web-site. Please give your respond here or go to my database-to-be on harbors from all over the world. You find it here http://platial.com/delphin3/map/102481. Please feel free to spread info on this database to everyone you know. Together we can build a very useful list of harbors.

I found the following in Anither Place, and wonder if some well-informed character might be moved to offer a reply.....

A big ask
It's all a bit vague He's asking a lot, As if there are only a couple of places in Scotland. Sounds like he can't be bothered searching for himself.

"See you, jimmy!".....
What the hell are you on about? Has the Friday night bevvy been a disappointment? Doing a Mugabe....? Been at those funny wee pills instead of the Prozac? Got the toothache and the bottle of Bells is empty? You were a ba' hair away from termination.
The post was made/placed in straightforward good faith; there's nothing rude, offensive or obscene about it; there's no trading or deception attempted; it names no names, criticises no-one, is not libellous, offers no controversial opinion....
...and I've been treated really well by Swedes when I've sailed there.
What's your problem?

I didn't suggest the post was any of the things you so eloquently say it was not and I'm quite sure you wouldn't have copied it otherwise.
My problem with it is that as yet another half-baked attempt to create yet another ports/harbours/marinas/moorings/anchorages database by someone who doesn't seem to be prepared to put any work in himself, it is doomed to failure and the exhortation to "Please feel free to spread info on this database to everyone you know. Together we can build a very useful list of harbors." makes it little better than spam IMO.
If he wants information on specific destinations for his second attempt at a Scottish cruise he can ask and people will respond as they always do. If he really wants to create a world-wide database he would do better to start with getting a few mates together to put up some Swedish entries and then asking if the rest of the world would like to contribute.
His first post more than a year ago was in much the same vein. Doesn't he have anything to contribute about anchors, the IRPCS or ensign etiquette?
I see no-one has added to the site as yet. You must have a lot of good info to share BB?
PS - I've met a lot of nice Swedes too.

Swedish blondes
Hokay! So this guy has form on the forum, you knew it, I didn't, and there has been some mutual misunderstanding.
Some mornings, I'm a bit innocent ( spelt 'stoopid' ) and I take peeps at face value. Yes, I know I should know better, but sometimes I revert to type.
Let's move on.

Never lose the ability to trust - you will be a poorer person without it. You may have less money, but you are a better person!bilbo wrote:Hokay! So this guy has form on the forum, you knew it, I didn't, and there has been some mutual misunderstanding.
