sound of Canna
Anyone been up this way recently? Are the Basking sharks there just now, my young son has a fascination with sharks and is desperate to see one when we are sailing. Last time I went through the Sound of Canna about 12 years ago there was about a hundred of them swimming about, would be great to show...

Re: Crinan Canal
Dunno if you need to book a canal passage but if I was you I'd book a pilot- it's so much easier- just call the canal office and ask. I think you'd be fine just turning up. You can leave a boat on the visitor moorings beside the sailing club but I think it's first come, first served and they are so...

Crinan Canal
Hello folks. My holidays is fast approaching, and I want to take the boat through the canal next weekend and leave her in Oban for a week before picking her up for my holidays. I have only been through the canal as crew on a friends boat, so, do I need to book to go through? Or can I just show up at...

As new plastic fuel tank 120L plastimo/Osculati
120 Litre plastic fuel tank, made by Plastimo/Osculati. Complete with new Electronic fuel level sender and if required matching fuel gauge. Tank has never been fitted as its just slightly too big for the space on my boat so couldn't get it in, and boat was never launched last year. Picture is of the...

Re: Sailing and Crusing Scotland - Facebook
I love to see videos and pictures, as its something I think is missing from this forum and others. A forum tends to have as many videos and pictures as people care to post. The facility to post YouTube vids and photos from photobucket is there. My point is not that they cant post images, rather the...

Re: Sailing and Crusing Scotland - Facebook
Yeah, I really like the group. After having a year with no sailing, I love to see videos and pictures, as its something I think is missing from this forum and others. Kenny certainly seems keen, maybe too much at times, but I already find it my favourite boating site and think he's doing a great thi...

Re: Crinan Canal
Where I believe that the assisted passage is a good thing, and I won't mind paying a bit extra when I use the canal. I too do not wish for assistance. I love using the locks and doing the work myself, I like the involvement that working the locks has, if I just wanted to stay on the boat I would go ...

Re: Old Marine Diesel Engine Wanted
I have my 2002 Perkins 3 cylinder 18hp lying in the garage, is going to the scrap yard. Almost complete. Used to run great, but getting it started was a nightmare for some reason, once running would purr away all day perfectly. Right from when it was new it would never start. So was scrapped 2 years...

That boat at St.Catherines near Strachur has had the foresail flapping about since early january.
Les of it everytime we drive past.
