Visitng yachts at Funchal raft up against the outside wall of the marina - the pontoons are filled with local boats. Space is at a premium, so it is worth calling first to avoid having to anchor and wait for a berth when you get there. The competition for berths will probably become less with the opening of the new marinas at Quinta do Lorde and Calheta.
