However, I rather dread the wrong result. A lot of people seem to be voting for what's not on the ballot paper.
I don't think the average Scots voter will see it that way. A bit of a semantic quibble IMO. The Remain campaign in Scotland was clearly fought on the basis of Scotland wanting to remain in the EU.mm5aho wrote:Its being interpreted that Scottish voters voted for Scotland not to leave the EU.
But the ballot was about UK leaving the EU. Quite different.
Not true. It was Brexit not scottsit. Everyone was quite clear about that.Nick wrote:I don't think the average Scots voter will see it that way. A bit of a semantic quibble IMO. However, let's remember this is a sailing forum. If people want to discuss politics in future then I will create a Politics sub-forum in the Members area. See my other thread with poll.
Well, obviously - as there was/is no mechanism whereby Scotland could unilaterally leave the EU, nor any desire for such a thing. However, Scotland voted unanimously (on a regional basis) to stay in.Aja wrote:

This word "unanimously", can anyone remember what it means, please?Nick wrote:However, Scotland voted unanimously (on a regional basis) to stay in.
