.
A greasy wee smear soon to be wiped from history - and our TV screens.

The last few weeks have definitely left a nasty taste in the mouth.

+1

However, I rather dread the wrong result. A lot of people seem to be voting for what's not on the ballot paper.

That was perceptive dread.

Its being interpreted that Scottish voters voted for Scotland not to leave the EU.
But the ballot was about UK leaving the EU. Quite different.

I don't think the average Scots voter will see it that way. A bit of a semantic quibble IMO. The Remain campaign in Scotland was clearly fought on the basis of Scotland wanting to remain in the EU.

However, let's remember this is a sailing forum. If people want to discuss politics in future then I will create a Politics sub-forum in the Members area. See my other thread with poll.

Well, obviously - as there was/is no mechanism whereby Scotland could unilaterally leave the EU, nor any desire for such a thing. However, Scotland voted unanimously (on a regional basis) to stay in.

You can be sure that Holyrood will now be examining all potential pathways and mechanisms that could allow Scotland to remain in the EU despite a Brexit vote.

I'd thought of Osborne as a weasel. Number 1 son said Johnson=badger; many consider harmless but is actually a vicious b#st$&d. Number 2 son said he could only see Gove as one of those poisonous frogs but less colourful
