A gentle scoot over to the Garvellachs this weekend made me realise how badly equipped for west coast sailing my boat is. Anyone know how much a bimmini costs?
Seriously , crew fighting for the shady spot behind the sprayhood. We folded the sprayhood down to "get the sun" , but then had to put it up again. Cold beer has never quite tasted this good.
Unusual quote of the weekend was from a pontoon neighbour - "I have to wash the boat down - the cockpit is full of sand!"

I have had several reports that it's always like this
It was almost believable until they said that the midges were extinct too.

It is almost always this warm. It's only usually the 2 weeks that you are on holiday that is cold and wet!

You've certainly struck it well this year.

Let's hope that it remains for the rest of the summer.

Sweltering circumnavigation of Jura Sat-Mon, mostly under engine, though we sailed as far as Eilean Naomh on Saturday afternoon. First visit to West Loch tartert, including a dinghy trip up the Cumhainn Beag for a barbecue where in the end the midges probably got more to eat than us. Magical hour and a half on Eilean Mor in the McCormacks on the way home yesterday; first time in Lowlandman's bay as well.

First 'sail' in two years and it's roasting.

Apart from this morning when I got to practice hand railing up the coastline in thick fog.

Loving it.
