Some good news

This is the day on which the sun sets earliest. So from tomorrow, the afternoons are getting longer. Well in the sense that "noon" is at 12.00. In fact mid-day noon is at about 12.13 and shifts steadily later until it reaches about 12.26 sometime in February, so the sun rises later in the mornings until nearly the new year. An excuse for those of us who are retired to stay in bed a wee bit loonger

I don't even open my eyes until I hear Ken Bruce's dulcet tones... it's too cold to fibreglass anyway.

Started working / driving this morning listening to Nicki Chapman sitting in for Vanessa Feltz on R2. Did finish early though, and the last day of ( paid ) work this year.

Well today is the day that I joined the ranks of the retired workers party.
What happens next?

Now you get really busy and there's even less time for sailing.

I stopped in May '15. Managed 72 days this year compared with an average of about 40 when working.
Yes - you do get busy, but you do things at your pace- and you have the chance to do them properly !

We're away to Singapore and KL to go sailing for three weeks on the 27th of December. One of my friends was muttering that the st Kilda race was easy Peasy would I like to nip round Rockall instead this summer as the boat is still coded after doing the AZAB.....
So I think that the sailing aspect is well taken care of. More worried what I do between now and lunchtime..

My advice - Don't overdo it, and if you fail to manage that, be sure to have a nap to recuperate. It works for me.
