"Bloodhound" was formerly a Royal Yacht, said to be the yacht that got Princess Anne interested in sailing.

I saved tracklogs from my 2 week whirlwind tour, converted then to text files to edit the bad GPS data points, then to GPX files to import into Google Earth, then saved a screenshot of that. So here's my track...

That's pretty impressive for a small crew in a normal yacht. Not much time for sightseeing, pub visits, sitting around doing nothing, though?

We were only two from Rhu to Orkney and south to Inverness where SWIMBO joined us for the Caley Canal and back.
We stopped many times, and didn't sail later than about 10pm, but started many days at 0600. We had thought to sail overnight northwards on the west coast, but favourable tides gained us time and we arrived Stromness a day ahead of schedule. OUr objective was to be at Graemesay lighthouse (Hoy High) for the saturday between our two weeks. We arrived Thursday night.
Spent some time ashore at many stopping places. Kyle rained a downpour. Kinlochbervie a ghost town, Stromness beautiful. Wick? nice harbour, too many Indian takeaways and only found one Chinese!
