Will it never end?

I am trying to get a couple of "nice" days away with my beloved whose tolerance for wet, wind, cold, rough seas, etc. approaches zero. This is next Saturday's synoptic (the picture will probably not be the same later as it updates roughly every 12 hours). I don't think I've ever seen so many fronts littered about. I have no idea what is likely to emerge.

I must say I'm getting a bit peed off with this apology for a summer.

Whilst I believe I have made my dislike of Denmark clear, i am moved to comment that it is very warm, sunny and blessed with a steady F4. This has been the situation for the past 3 weeks. It is too hot to sleep and quite sticky and the clegs have to be seen to be believed.
I trust this will help you better appreciate the climatic conditions you are experiencing

Back in the UK then, giving my nephew away at his wedding. Its in a tent - should I worry?

My comment referred to Daneland where it is likely to be pishing down. As for the tent, if that's the best the FOTB can afford, aye, I would worry.

When a man frae auld relekie who has paid for the most expensive tram system in the universe can rationalise his actions thus:

"Post-purchase rationalization, also known as Buyer's Stockholm Syndrome, a cognitive bias whereby someone who has purchased an expensive product or service overlooks any faults or defects in order to justify their purchase. It is a special case of choice-supportive bias."

A ban? more like a strait jacket ...

Bit like the Danes and all those windmills. Welcome home !

Forecasting not great... Set out from Kinlochbervie for Stromness, forecast was SW 4-5 occ 6 some rain. Actual: NE 1-2 bright sun all day. Been about as wrong most of the week.

I posted the 120hr synoptic in the OP and lo, it updates, which rather ruins the point of the post but does indicate that next week might be summer (fingers, toes and other appendages crossed). So as Engerland sinks beneath the floods and amber weather warnings I have invested a whole £1 (+10p for a text ticket) to bus back to the boat in Oban with Madame Marisca to attempt a sunkissed cruise in golden sunshine. Does mean I'll miss both of the Piper Worlds though - the boats and the cornemuse.

I spent 2 weeks in Orkney, prior to coming back round the top.
Stromness is great, real place, real people. Friendly!
Try to go down to Hoy (Lyness old Naval Base)- worth the effort, though mooring alongside the "golden quay" isn't the easiest thing !
Loch Eriboll is OK for a stop on the way back.
