.
It was fantastic to meet the crew of Chiron and Blue Shift in the Trousers tonight.

In spite of wimpish withdrawals the CC still lives.

Blue Shift just left aiming for Lochaline. We are staying here for now. Best plan may be to go home and save the leave for another time.

We missed and motored all the way back home to Connel instead. It was F6 from the east and very cold. The anticipated moderation in the wind never turned up.

I did manage to surprise the crew with a shortcut from Slatrach Bay to Oitir Mhor. Thanks to Antares Charts, nothing solid was touched but the wind was a bit less biting.

Hopefully you have a warmer, drier day tomorrow, Mon. Seems to go downhill again until Friday. BBC weather now quotes gusts only, which is less useful. Thursday / early hours Friday seems high.

Stay safe.

Borderline panic might be a better description of the helmsman's reaction when the skipper said "Aim for that rock" and disappeared below.

Seriously though, three great days afloat and two great evenings socialising - a classic CC in my book, if a trifle under-subscribed. A big thank you to cpedw - the Westerly Falcon is a fine boat.

Hope the old folks got back down south OK.

Silkingtons, thank you for that - yes the old ones are now safe returned to their respective abodes.
Claymore had attention lavished upon her by Para and the Muzz and has never been so well prepared at the start of a season.
Shame we didn't sail more than the mile or so from the Pontoon to the Lagoon.

We had a discussion at one point which focussed on converting the CC to a Summer Wine week which would better suit retired gentlefolk, it being staged in thw warm and sunny month of June.

What thinkst?

Being only my 2nd CC, the last being 2006 on Silkie, I would just like to thank cpedw for having me on board and Silkie for arranging it. Shame about the weather but I still had fun, I was on the helm when the skipper instructed me to head for that rock, then disappeared below to fire up the tablet to see where the gap was!!!!

Hope its not another 9 years before I do another CC.

But surely a "summer wine week" would be in Homlfirth?

And who would be Compo?

I can think of any number of candidates for Compo......

The sailing in Holmfirth would be pretty rubbish - best stick to where we are.
