Is anyone actually going on the 2014 CC or will we all just be on the same few hundred square miles of water at possibly overlapping times?

I propose . . .
Fairwinds, Shard, Silkie meet up Thursday night Kerrera or Oban or Dunstaffnage.
The rest can tag along if they want.
We will go where the wind blows us.

Just to be sure, that is the night of Thu 15 May?

Meeting up in Oban on the evening of Thursday 15th works for me.

.
We can get through Cuan on the flood any time in the afternoon.
Looks as though Silkie will have to come down against the tide though.
We can do Dunstaffnage if it is easier.

See you in Oban on Thursday then - thanks for including us.

So is that Fairwinds in Kerrera, Shard in Oban and Silkers in Dunstaffers?

Sorry, I didn't think you were available for the Thursday.
So - Thursday in the vicinity of Oban then. Claymore, Shard, Silkie, Fairwinds.
If people fancy a night on the town then the moorings are probably favourite - we could just blow one dinghy up as it's a short trip ashore.

Emmm, just to be a harbinger of gloom, the Scottish Islands Peaks Race starts on Friday 16th and the fleet of 40+ boats will be in Oban Bay, probably off OSC on Thursday night.
I will be in Oban then but will be involved in the social whirl of SIPR. The good news is the OSC bar will be open that night.

Hmm sounds like the moorings might be difficult and the marina will be busy as well. Last time I shared Oban marina with SIPRrs I very nearly wiped the rowing platform off the stern of one berthed boat while I was leaving. Well I wasn't expecting 6' of spindly ironmongery to be hanging there at the waterline sticking out into the fairway.

At best I won't even see Shard before very very late Thursday or early Friday. So, once we head south from Dallens Bay, do we go straight on down the east side of Lismore, or down the Linn of Morvern? Do we we turn right up the Sound of Mull, or do we head for the Sound of Luing, or Colonsay or what?
?

I don't know.
I thought the whole point of arranging it for mid-May was that everyone would be able to get a long weekend then and that the weather would be better.
I think that weather permitting I will just take my boys for a sail up the Sound of Mull to Tobermory, with Coll as a possibility for Saturday.
Perhaps head for Lochaline on Thursday night ?

Lochaline Thursday then. I do think that would be better than being in a very busy Oban and it may help Shardipoos with his planning.
I feel slightly responsible for a mild amendment to the plans. Please would you accept any sincere apologies you feel are owed. And then blame the fekkin Dane - they were not supposed to be coming for another couple of weeks but then plans got altered and I find myself, yet again at odds with the Daughter, her fekkin husband, Dear Heart, and our neighbours parrot George who bit me on Saturday.

Loch Aline's not too bad. The ocean greyhound Shard will soon catch up come Friday morning.
