As a codicil to my comments on the survival of southern Englandshire following the storm of the century, there was a wee gale in the Land of My Father last night. 10,000 homes without power, trains (not that they are allowed many) cancelled, bridges closed, trees down, property damaged, sheep frightened, etc. but I didn't notice the meedja working themselves up into a frenzy before, during or after.
