HMS who?

Walney or Hurworth... In Ayr bay as I type.
AIS keeps hunting between two identities for the same ship (and there only is one)
Do you suppose they flip MMSI or whatever to confuse the enemy?
Why not just switch it off...
(Edit)
Clicking a photo, brings up tug Agility mmsi 234640000 for HMS Walney, seems to have opted for that identity now, although the picture for Hurworth was correct.
Well well well, Hurworth is back and clicking on it's pic reveals the MMSI to be the same!
Should we tell the MARS database people?
(Edit again) MARS brings up Walney as the single entry for that MMSI
Hurworth (the name) does not surface a record.
Agility is associated with 7 entries - none have the MMSI in question but typing it's call sign (GBPL) brings up Hurworth with an MMSI of 234600000. so one digit different but the problem is repeatable, so it's not simply undetected/uncorrected data corruption.
What it does tell me - the system is not foolproof, so don't rely on DSC to be your only means of emergency identification.
I'm going to stop this now and go to my shed.
