Are the locks hard work for a couple? And are there any transit costs?

The locks are all electric and operated by the canal staff - so easy peasy.

It'll cost you £100 - £120 (don't have the exact prices per metre) for a five-day transit license.

Yer probably right!

Current Plan is

Falmouth - Strangford
Strangford - Bangor
Bangor - Oban
Oban-Ft William
Caledonian
Inverness - Burghead (Cos I used to go on a fishing boat out of there as a lad in the 70's) but suspect I'll be pushing it with 2 M draft
Burghead - Peterhead
Then a bit hazy after that ..
