Is it true that, out there, there are some other owners of a Claymore 30?
If so, can I get in touch?

Cleddyf Mon welcome to the forum.
As for your questions. Yes. Not if you have any sense.
Regards
Donald

the one that I know and I'm sure he'll be along shortly, loses his hat and sailing boots. Is there an explanation? Is it age? Do they all go ga-ga?

There are 2
One goes by the name of Sahona, a more generous, intelligent, helpful chap you will never meet.
The other is me.
Why do you ask?

Let's hope that she isn't called 'Claymore' or we'll be even more confused.

Hello.
Somebody'd better connect "C" up to a polygraph.
Sahona 1978, sloop, perkins 4108. Yours is almost bound to be newer and shinier.

I own a Claymore 30. Name: Cleddyf Mon. I am Lisbon based and bought her nearby, about four years ago.
as far as I know there's not another one in Portugal.
She sails beautifully.
Some times I need bits and pieces and knowing some other owners might help in locating spares.
Sharing sailing experiences and getting advice on spares would help me a lot.

Hi and welcome.
I think I remember her being for sale.
Well - I suppose the advice you may need will be more about Biminis than Eberspachers!
There are 2 models of Claymore, where are your genoa winches, on the sides of the wheelhouse or at the back, on top of the aft coachroof?
There was a claymore owners website a while ago, which an American lady, Eileen Wicklund, put together. They did a major restoration job on theirs.
You tend to find that on the Bluemoment website, the Claymore owners tend to have the edge in terms of wit, banter, badinage and - well, intelligence really. Especially Sahona.
(lights blue touch paper and retires)

Probably back up at the end of next week. We'll have the Grand-daughter with us so this is very weather dependent.
