Yet another Puilladobhrain pic, but rather a nice one I think. Can you spot a weel kent hull in there?

What's that in the water off Avilion's starboard bow? Was your anchor buoyed Dave? Nice pic BTW.
Edit - On second thoughts it looks too far away in a flat calm to be above the anchor.

You think it is too far away to be over Avilion's anchor
That is the Malo with the blue stripe's tripping line buoy.
He came charging in at six knots, threw the anchor and tripping line over the front, slammed it hard astern and let out at least 50m of chain - hence the huge empty space in the middle of a very crowded anchorage. Totally agressive and unncessary IMO.
The boat is called Cirrus. It used to belong to a nice couple.

I'm tempted by an anchor ball troll but I can't decide which side to choose.
I'll just wait and see if someone else tries one and join the other side.

It looks like Cirrus has an anchor ball up, therefore he is in the rightand all the others without an anchor ball are wrong.
I reserve the right to change sides, I may have already.

Now why would you need an anchor ball in an anchorage?

Perhaps if you are the sort of twat who chucks out a tripping line/buoy and lets out 50m of chain in a crowded anchorage in 5m?

Ah, so you don't need one in an anchorage if you're not a twat.
Same as you don't need car hazard warning lights unless you're parked selfishly and stupidly.

Well, I tend to assume that stationary vessels in a crowded anchorage with a chain from the bow into the water are anchored, don't you?

I thought anchor balls were only for use in Englandshire or as a sign that you are taking your yachtmaster exam.
Nice pic

Couldn't give a flying frit about anchor balls but I definitely use my anchor light - how else do you find your boat after the Wildcat has mauled you?

You do get a few of them. Years ago I met a similar twat who clearly believed he needed the whole of Bull Hole as his personal swinging room.
Perhaps Cirrus has a Chinese-made Rocna?
