At last....new photos under sail

Post by ash »

I'm happy to have some new photos of Mistral under sail. My only one was years old, from Loch Lomond, and IIRC I had photoshopped out an errant fender.

These are courtesy of Falkirkdan, Thanks Danny.

As you can tell from the creases, the wind was rather light.

I would love a head on shot of Mistral making 6.5 knts upwind, in the style of the those seen in racing reports. Would probably need to be 'staged', else have a photographer with either a long lens or nerves of steel.

Good photos. It looks like you had good weather for the meet.

I hope you didn't use it all up and there is some left for the next few weeks.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.

Glad to see you had got rid of the heater chimney for the second photo. :D

So another of Steve Birch's Vegas sails on? Nice one!

We went down to the boat on Friday, but didn’t move and spent most of the time with the electric heater running as it was bitterly cold.
Saturday became warm and sunny for the KCC Petanque and BBQ muster at Port Bannatyne. By the time we’d had a walk to Ettrick Bay on Sunday, the wind had dropped a little bit too much but it was a very pleasant, if slow sail back to Kip.
I’m working next Sunday but fingers crossed for good weather for the long weekend at the end of the month. Hope that you have a great 3 weeks up the West coast.

How would I ever find my way home without it?

Yes. That's the shot, maybe slightly more head on but that would do.

Ash, next time you're out give me a shout - I can take photos - my camera is worth more than my boat!
