Googling "yachtmaster ocean scotland" throws up a few possibilities, as does the "Find a training centre" bit of the RYA website.

Is there a Planetarium or Observatory near to you? We have both and IIRC both will run Astronav courses on request. (I get the feeling they actually want students IYSWIM.)

I bought a book.

Then a plastic sextant, almanac and tables.

Then a GPS.

You can guess the rest.

I now have a book, and it doesn't look so difficult, and its starting to comeback (I did learn when I was about 10!). Think I could manage that. Not so difficult as tedious!

I found it incredibly tedious doing it on my own and gave up half way through. If I ever do it again it will be in a class.

nautical college, glasgow, usually have an rya ocean course but it wont start till september.
i had a go at it a couple of years ago but for various reasons didn`t sit the exam

I use the Ipad app.....
