For the last 9 months or so this site: http://www.shipfinder.com/main/defaultwork has given free access to the complete global C-map database. Which some us have found quite handy! Sadly, all good things come to an end, and if you now try to zoom in a message appears asking you to log in (which costs quite a lot). :(

I found it very hand indeed. Nice while it lasted.

Would this have been copyrighted data?

If so, then there seems to have been a major crackdown by the FBI against copyrighted map/chart data previously available on a whole load of download sites.
In the past I've managed to update my Garmin satnav for free and have downloaded the entire OS Landranger series, but now this has all gone, rightly so I guess..

Check out this message on Megaupload!

Other file sharing sites have suffered the same fate and any questionable data sems to have been removed by site owners.

Used to be able to watch Premiership footy on t'interwebby, but many of the sites have been closed down recently. Ho hum, action against pirates eh? Copyright owners must be feeling the pinch - still won't get any pennies off me tho.
