finding moorings

hi can anybody help with info as to finding moorings in or around newcastle upon tyne and gateshead, i have a 44ft narrow boat

Not sure what kind of mooring you're after, but all I know is that there are 2 marinas. One is around North Shields, and the other is St Peters which is much further u river near the city centre.

A quick bit of googling suggests that you need to talk to the Port of Tyne people (
www.portoftyne.co.uk) who control everything on the navigable bit of the Tyne from Wylam to the sea.
