I am very likely to be bringing a boat from the Clyde to the Forth towards the end of the month and would welcome reports of recent users' experience. The vessel is 5'4'' draft.

If you have a look around, I have a feeling that Marisca wrote about this not too long ago.

If I'd realised you were cross posting I would have saved my words of wisdom for this forum.

Gargoyle indeed. Pot, pot, this is kettle, kettle, over?
Seriously, thanks for that

. Your draft is theoretically 2" more than the boat in question which gives grounds for optimism. Round the other way is not really an option due to the demands of employment for the various members of the syndicate, it has to be done more or less in a weekend or two.

Does 2" extra offer adequate clearance of shopping trolleys & bicycles?
